BAE Systems is seeking a Supply Chain Capture Director to support new business captures in our Countermeasure & Electromagnetic Attack Solutions (CEMA) business area. Here, you will develop robust supply chain strategies for next generation threat detection, countermeasure, and attack solutions, providing Customers with full-spectrum electronic warfare capabilities to enhance mission survivability.
This Supply Chain Director will lead and implement strategic activities across the CEMA business area. The selected individual will primarily develop supply chain solutions for new business pursuits early in the capture process along with special supply chain projects. Further, the selected individual will assimilate the strategic supply chain management activities from proposal to execution upon award.

Basic Functions of the Job:

As the Supply Chain Capture Director within CEMA, you will be responsible for the early engagement in new business opportunities and the integration of Supply Chain leadership to support the development and successful rollout of critical sourcing strategies across the business area. These responsibilities may include, but not limited to, supporting the formulation and execution of sourcing/material strategies, sourcing agreements, overseeing sourcing segmentation efforts, and supporting supply chain capture initiatives to provide robust supply chain solutions that minimize cost and improve program performance. The development and implementation of these supply chain strategies will require a high degree of collaboration and communication with engineering, operations, manufacturing, quality, finance and the program office.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Primarily support new business captures early in the capture process along with a variety of special supply chain projects.
  • Individual will support and lead transition to execution of supply chain management activities from proposal to execution, working collaboratively across supplier partnerships and operations (supply chain planning, OPMs, subcontracts, general procurement)
  • Lead sourcing segmentation strategies for new business pursuits and/or newly established programs across the CEMA business area and successfully transition segmentation actions to the executing program team.
  • Work cross-functionally to support OPMs, Supplier Development, Engineering, and Program Management to collect and minimize supplier/part risks across various product lines within CEMA.
  • Champion business area and/or product line sourcing strategies that drive cost reduction and procurement efficiencies. Help to drive product-centric sourcing strategies that can be utilized across multiple programs.
  • Support supply chain capture opportunities across the business area by conducting new supplier risk and opportunity assessments, building supplier relationships, and gathering supplier technology and capability expertise to implement sourcing strategies on key business pursuits.
  • Help establish collaboration networks across Business Areas to assimilate best practices. Develop robust supply chain solutions for new technologies/products from Fast Labs that transition into the Business Areas.
  • Leading through uncertainty and providing clarity through areas of ambiguity.
  • Lead a small team of Supply Chain Strategist professionals.
Key Success Factors:

Leadership through Collaboration: Because this role is a gateway between the supply base, program office, quality, engineering and operations, it is vital that the Supply Chain Capture Director has the skills to successfully collaborate between all functions and across all levels.

Communication: A primary portion of this role is communicating, setting expectations and priorities both locally and remotely across multiple locations. Excellent communications skills are fundamental to the success of the Supply Chain Capture Director to influence stakeholders and gain buy-in from various functions and levels.

Continuous Improvement: This position is part of an evolving ES-wide Supply Chain Capture effort. The Supply Chain Capture Director will help carve the way on some major initiatives that are imperative to the success of the Supply Chain Capture function. The Supply Chain Capture Director will help implement new processes, support and lead training, help influence sourcing segmentation philosophies early in a capture phase, help lead sourcing strategies to drive efficiencies, lower costs, minimize supply chain vulnerabilities and pave new paths to drive left shift initiatives earlier in the design phase. It is imperative to come with an open mind with the intent to make things better, more efficient, effective, and most of all, sustainable.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study and 12 years of related supply chain management experience.
  • Experience in new business capture to include proposals
  • Experience in Operations Management, Project Management or Program Management, Procurement, Subcontracts
  • Strong demonstrated negotiation skills and strategies
  • Experience developing long-term strategies and tactical plans to achieve enterprise objectives
  • Successful, proven record of leading and managing multi-discipline project teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on relationship building, leading through influence, and the ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) at all levels
  • Ability to develop plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources
  • Ability to communicate with senior management regarding Supply Chain Capture status
  • Experience communicating externally either with customers or suppliers
  • Technical and business acumen
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Developing internal/external/cross-cultural partner relationships
  • Ability to travel when needed
  • Secret clearance (eligible)
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Master's degree in business administration and 10 years of supply chain management experience.
  • Prior experience in Operations/Supply Chain environment
  • Experience leading cross-functional Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
  • Program Management Institute's (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Demonstrated Risk Management experience
  • Experience with information systems such as Oracle, Salesforce, etc.
  • Knowledge of acquisition policies and procedures with associated knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR)
  • Experience managing the development and compliance of requirements (SOWs, specifications, contractual terms, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills to handle many overlapping projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience successfully engaging supplier executives
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $250400

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
