You will:


Serve as a first line supervisor of approximately ten attorneys assigned to the Water Law Branch (WLB) who work on counseling and/or enforcement matters primarily under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and Clean Water Act (CWA), but also the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); Coastal Zone Management Act (CZMA); Marine Protection, Research, and Sanctuaries Act (MPRSA); Oil Pollution Act (OPA); and Endangered Species Act (ESA).

Management includes oversight of all substantive environmental issues within the LLB, including assigning work to staff attorneys and reviewing major work product, resolving complex legal issues, and providing legal advice and policy recommendations to senior managers, as well as handling all administrative matters for the WLB, such as performance reviews and other personnel-related activities.

Build effective working relationships as a liaison working closely with Region 10 program clients, including the Water Division (WD) and the Enforcement and Compliance Division (ECAD); EPA headquarter offices including, the Office of Water (OW), Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA), and Office of General Counsel (OGC); other federal partners, including the U.S.

Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Attorney's Office; as well as state and tribal legal contacts, to ensure that relevant and accurate information is exchanged regarding actions that may affect Regional program objectives;

Assume a leadership role within the WLB, including assisting with strategic planning and coordination with program clients; maintain subject matter expertise regarding water law issues; disseminate current policies, guidance, procedures to WLB attorneys and ORC management to ensure consistency across regional and national matters; and mentor less experienced attorneys.
