If you are a Software Development professional looking to grow your career, Emerson has an outstanding opportunity for you Based in Charlottesville, VA, you will design and implement automated tests for our controls products and own the tools and frameworks that facilitate them. You have sophisticated programming skills which you use as your main tool in product validation. We are looking to expand our high-performing team with a motivated, hard-working engineer to help deliver exciting new features for our existing controls ecosystem. IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

  • Maintain and improve our automated Continuous Integration test infrastructure
  • Understand requirements and designs of development work to build automated test cases
  • Write code/scripts to automatically test various pieces of our system to supplement existing code coverage
  • Work closely with the team to provide feedback on testability of features and designs
  • Ensure quality of production product releases
  • Review automated tests written by development teams to ensure complete coverage
  • Explore and utilize new technologies to continually improve our infrastructure and processes
  • Take ownership for monitoring product development and usage at all levels with an eye toward improving product quality

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or similar)
  • 1+ years of related experience in software engineering test environment
  • Experience in C/C++/C# programming
  • Experience with Microsoft batch programming and/or Windows command shell
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge of embedded real-time software testing
  • Knowledge of Industrial Controls, particularly PLCs
  • Knowledge of test methodologies, writing test plans, crafting test cases, and debugging
  • Knowledge of how to use regular expressions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel plug-ins
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery software and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, Cruise Control, Electric Commander, etc.)
  • Knowledge of industrial network protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus)
  • Experience with Ethernet networking protocols
