Job Description

Job Summary:

Lighthouse Instruments LLC is seeking a highly skilled Automation Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining control systems for our PLC-controlled pharmaceutical package inspection machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Development: Conceptualize and design control system architectures for pharmaceutical inspection machinery, including PLC programming (A/B, Siemens) and human-machine interface programming (InteractX, FactoryTalk, Wonderware InTouch).
  • System Testing and Maintenance: Troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems using various types of test equipment, ensure machines operate economically and efficiently, and maintain knowledge of industrial electrical and safety codes.
  • Documentation and Quality Assurance: Support the development and maintenance of quality system documents, including software design review protocols, software test protocols, and version control.
  • Service and Support: Provide global service support, develop customer training material, and develop preventative maintenance programs for PLC and HMI systems.

Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience: 7-10 years of Automation controls engineering experience preferred.
  • Travel: Domestic and International travel required (3-6 trips annually).

  • Problem Analysis and Resolution Skills: Practical problem analysis and resolution skills to troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems.
