The Data Management Lead is accountable for leading the data management capability across teams focused on trusted sources & flow, catalogue & definition, and data quality & integrity controls.

This role will work closely with the US DAO Lead to ensure a consistent and effective data management approach is followed and aligned to policies and guidelines.


As our Head of Data Management you will:

  • Oversee and lead functions related to trusted sources & flow, catalogue & definition, and data quality & integrity controls
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand
  • Interact and be a representative throughout the region at various levels of management on behalf of the DAO
  • Lead and develop an effective team through communication, performance management, development plans, and reward/recognition practices
  • Ownership – the role requires the navigation of the structure and roles across the new US Data & Architecture Office (DAO)
  • Sensitivity and trust – engendering a true sense of urgency, pace, community, and collaboration across indirectly managed areas across the DAO community
  • Flexibility and adaptability – constantly changing priorities and tasks that are potentially highly restricted in nature, unpredictable and wide-ranging, complex and time-sensitive requires the simultaneous handling of a broad range of issues
  • The role holder needs to perform a proactive, collaborative role across the US DAO
  • Fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators
  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the HSBC brand
For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $171,700.00 and $257,500.00


The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Variable pay generally takes the form of discretionary, annual awards (sometimes referred to as a "bonus").

Requirements You ́ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience with data and applications management
  • Experience with managing a large technical team
  • Experience with data modeling/catalogue & definition design and implementation
