Sales & Underwriting Analytics

As a Senior Data Scientist at The Hartford, you will play a key role in developing machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions for various strategic initiatives within Personal Lines. You'll work alongside cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize modeling solutions using cutting-edge technologies and methodologies. Collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement are at the core of our organization.

Must be eligible to work in the US without company sponsorship

Responsibilities:

  • Create statistical models, algorithms, and machine learning techniques to drive financial objectives and enhance the customer journey
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support the analytics vision and promote a data-driven culture
  • Lead modeling and machine learning projects, fostering collaboration between Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Performance Analysts
  • Identify new data sources and analytical techniques to maintain a competitive edge
  • Contribute to the implementation of strategies to meet business goals
  • Stay informed on the latest research and tools in the field
  • Provide statistical support to ensure accuracy in decision-making
  • Bring best practices to enhance Data Science workflows

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Master's or Ph.D. in a related field
  • Proficiency in statistical modeling and building machine learning algorithms
  • Experience with SQL, Unix, and Git
  • Knowledge of end-to-end modeling lifecycle
  • Experience in cloud-native environments is a plus
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical topics into business solutions
  • Experience in project execution and process improvement

Compensation

The annualized base pay range for this role is between $106,960 and $160,440. Actual compensation may vary based on performance and other competencies. Apart from base pay, The Hartford offers additional rewards such as bonuses, incentives, and recognition programs.
