Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team at The Travelers Companies, Inc. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering data and analytical solutions to support business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and partner with Actuarial Product, Architecture, and data leadership teams to prioritize, scope, and implement data solutions for TIR initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate and implement common data pipelines for BIAA processes.
  • Design complex data solutions, including incorporating new data sources and ensuring designs are consistent across projects and aligned to data strategies.
  • Perform analysis of complex sources to determine value and use and recommend data to include in analytical processes.
  • Collaborate across teams to support delivery and educate end users on complex data products/analytic environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of tools, techniques, and manipulation, including cloud platforms, programming languages, and modern software engineering practices.
  • Strong delivery skills, including the ability to determine software design strategy and methodology.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop business partnerships.
