Overview
is seeking a Data Engineer to support Operations and Maintenance activities that involve developing and designing database models, stored procedures to support web application solutions, and developing and monitoring ETL solutions, to include job-flows.
Onsite 5 days a week in Arlington, VA
What you will do
- Identify and integrate data from multiple sources in batch processing (using scripts) using ETL Tools.
- Provide ongoing Operations and Maintenance support and troubleshoot any issues related to data, ETL code and job-flows, or PL/SQL code. Monitor day-to-day ETL jobs and take corrective actions in case of failure.
- Understanding the business requirements and deliver suitable Data Models and solutions using RDBMS like Oracle PL/SQL or PostgreSQL PSQL.
- Understanding customer data to enhance functional data literacy to be able to support customer needs.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback regarding others' designs/code.
What you need to have
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and 2 to 5 years of experience; or
- Master's Degree and 0 - 3 years of experience; or
- in lieu of degree, 8 to 10 years of experience
- Clearance: must possess and maintain a Secret level clearance
- RDBMS: 2+ years Oracle, Postgres (or any other relational database experience) with PL/SQL or T-SQL programming, SQL performance tuning, Packages, Functions, and Stored Procedure development
- Requires 2-5 years of hands-on experience with design, development, and support of ETL processes and relevant experience in Database Development, Data Analysis, and Data Integration
- ETL: Experience with any COTS Data Integration technologies (ETL Tools like Informatica, CloverDX, and SSIS, etc.)
- Analyze data, automate monitoring of very large datasets to identify data anomalies early to minimize impact to customer facing data, and write code to reconcile
- Strong communication skills are a must. Should be able to effectively engage business and technical stakeholders
- Strong desire to learn new skills as directed by leadership
- Must be a collaborative and strong team player who is able to work independently
What we'd like you to have
- Scripting Language: Understanding of scripting in PowerShell, BASH, Python, or equivalent.
- LINUX/UNIX experience is highly desirable.
- Experience using JIRA or tracking system to manage system level configuration changes.
- Experience in AWS or Azure platforms.
- Experience in supporting DoD agencies, preferably Army.
