Position Description

Team

The User Experience Platform Engineering department at ServiceNow oversees the comprehensive development of the Conversational Platform powered by NLU and Gen AI, Mobile Apps, Builders (UI and Mobile), and Web platform. This team takes charge of the Core Experience and user interfaces across the entire ServiceNow application suite. The focus lies on delivering user-centric features that adhere to modern design principles, ensuring minimal cognitive complexity in interfaces.

Role

As a Distinguished Architect at ServiceNow, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence and delivering top-notch web-based user experiences for all customer-facing applications. Your responsibilities will include evaluating architectural solutions, enhancing the performance of existing web flows, and ensuring user-friendliness throughout. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in front-end and full-stack web development, with a knack for navigating complex codebases.

It is required that the candidate holds a senior-level position with hands-on experience as a Web architect, Web performance architect, SRE, or equivalent role. The individual should possess expert knowledge in front-end systems design, Web performance, and Web runtime tools and frameworks. The role also demands setting high standards and providing technical guidance for web-based user interfaces at ServiceNow.

Key proficiencies include Web performance tools and frameworks, caching technologies, JavaScript, APIs, and Java. The candidate should be an innovator, offering insights on scaling the web platform, optimizing the existing framework, and incorporating new technologies.

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Over 15 years of experience in full-stack web development, focusing on user experience enhancement.
  • Strong skills in optimizing web applications for better performance and scalability.
  • Hands-on coding proficiency in Java and JavaScript.
  • Prior experience as a Principal or Distinguished architect within a Fortune 500 company.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, emphasizing teamwork and communication.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
