Distinguished Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Distinguished Scientist to join our AI & Experiences team at Zillow. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for advancing our mission by formulating and working on science-driven initiatives related to user experiences.

• Develop and implement new science-fueled business opportunities
• Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our team's technical and research work
• Position our scientists and engineers to thrive within the company and research community
• Challenge established assumptions and expectations, and come up with new ideas that fuel innovation and creativity

Our AI & Experiences team is a growing space, and we are looking for a curious and intuitive scientist to continually build momentum in this area. The team is staffed with applied scientists, engineers, and designers developing spatial understanding algorithms and deep learning models that power immersive media experiences for buyers and renters.

• Ph.D. in Computer Science or Engineering, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or related domain
• Solid background in computer vision research, building models and algorithms
• Understanding of 2D/3D geometry and experience framing geometrical problems within modern differentiable frameworks such as PyTorch and Tensorflow
• Excellent publication record and an excitement to share your knowledge
• Practical knowledge of deep learning
• Communication skills to work collaboratively with peers and leaders across a large organization
• Tenacity to embrace and solve ambitious problems
• Ability to effectively mentor both senior and junior applied scientists
