About the RoleThe AI & Experiences Organization is seeking a Distinguished Scientist to propel Zillow's mission forward by spearheading science-driven initiatives that enhance user experiences. In this role, you will be instrumental in generating new science-based business opportunities, optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of our technical and research endeavors, and positioning our scientists and engineers for success within the organization and the broader research community. You will be encouraged to challenge existing assumptions and expectations, not only by leveraging our current assets but also by proposing innovative ideas that drive creativity and progress. Our solutions process vast amounts of data, including imagery and metadata, to create engaging and immersive experiences.
Who You AreAs a Distinguished Scientist, you are a forward-thinking innovator in machine learning with a proven history of groundbreaking contributions. You possess a solid understanding of computer vision principles and are prepared to engage in hands-on scientific work when necessary. We are looking for candidates who have:
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, or a related field
- A robust background in computer vision research, including model and algorithm development
- Knowledge of 2D/3D geometry and experience addressing geometrical challenges within modern differentiable frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow
- An impressive publication record and a willingness to share insights from your experiences
- Practical expertise in deep learning methodologies
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with peers and leaders across a large organization
- The determination to tackle ambitious challenges
- The ability to mentor both senior and junior applied scientists effectively
