Manufacturing Engineer

In this onsite role, you will support production in a team-based manufacturing environment. In this highly hands on role, you will spend the majority of your time, up to 90%, on the shop floor resolving manufacturing related issues, providing technical support on a variety of technical tasks. You will also perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including production planning and control systems, manufacturing operations, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process engineering. Finally, you may interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
Typical hours for this position are 6 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, with every other Friday off as part of our 9/80 schedule.
As a Manufacturing Engineer / Floor Support Engineer, you will:
- Apply basic knowledge of the design of organization's products and technology to address clearly defined engineering problems
- Select the optimum method or process from several existing alternatives
- Evaluate and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models, and/or test results to ensure product built complies with the technical data package, applicable engineering standards and military specifications
- Develop and write technical documentation, make revisions to existing documentation, and provide input to technical papers or presentations / may deliver technical presentations
- Perform technical assessment, testing, calculations, and evaluation of results to address engineering problems using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs
- Provide input to project heads for the development of project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Apply basic lean/six sigma principals to drive improvements to production processes
- Interact with colleagues located at multiple facilities across the country
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering and 2+ years; or would consider additional experience in lieu of a degree.
- May consider candidates who don't meet the above requirements for a more junior role.
- Experience identifying, defining, interpreting, and resolving engineering problems involving conflicting design/policy or technical requirements across functional areas and with difficult coordination requirements.
- Can work alone with minimal guidance.
- Effective written and oral communication.
- Hands-on floor support experience, working with shop personnel.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Good computer knowledge and experience working well within different software / programs.
- Experience with automotive repair either as a professional or hobbyist.
- Engineering experience with relevant applications in a defense environment.
- Specialized technical knowledge of relevant military and commercial design standards.
- Knowledge of machine design.
- Working knowledge of GD&T.
- Experience with PTC Creo/ProE.
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $116800

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
