Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Weld Maintenance Tooling Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating machine tools to perform precision machining operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify conformance of finished work-pieces to specifications using measuring and inspection tools
  • Advanced weld fixture adjustments for complex systems
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate parts and components
  • Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machinery work
  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or work-piece as guides for subsequent machining as necessary
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and drive process, tooling, and equipment enhancements to improve production efficiency and product quality
  • Complete and manage work orders via the Plex system
  • Collaborate with engineering, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work with mathematical concepts such as portability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Valid forklift and scissor lift licenses issued by Challenge Manufacturing
