About the Role

Columbus McKinnon is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in the greater Charlotte, NC area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the site has the necessary resources and infrastructure to deliver high-quality products to our customers in a cost-efficient and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and Prioritize Safety Programs: Develop and implement effective safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all production employees.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to improve on-time delivery, service level, and lead time, while reducing costs and improving quality.
  • Lead Production Activities: Plan, direct, and manage production priorities in a dynamic and complex environment with short lead times.
  • Manage Budget and Resources: Develop and oversee departmental budgets, including headcount, hours worked, overtime, and expenses.
  • Improve Quality Performance: Develop and implement strategies to improve quality performance objectives, including warranty, customer complaints, scrap, and first pass yield.
  • Champion Lean Culture: Sustain and continually improve the CMCO Lean Business System, working closely with Manufacturing Engineering Manager.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, with experience in lean culture development and lean tool implementation.
  • Skills: Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills; working knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools and lean manufacturing; excellent personal time management skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
