A Portland-based custom merchandise company seeks a part-time/freelance production sewing specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate semi-industrial sewing machines to sew various fabrics and materials according to specifications. (Pfaff 591 and Pfaff Ambition 610)
  • Produce retail quality work with extreme consistency.
  • Work with other team members to ensure timely completion of production goals.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and assist in troubleshooting machine and operations issues.
  • Occasionally help with other operations of the production process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • This role has no direct supervised positions to manage.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in commercial or production environment sewing preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret production specifications and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Detail-orientated and quality-conscious.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Approach all sewing challenges with a solution-based mentality.
  • Excel within a system that demands attention to detail in work output.
