Legal assistant / paralegal needed to join team at busy and personable, small law firm, for immediate hire. This position is on-site only and is NOT remote.

This position is for immediate hire and will provide support to our litigation attorneys, focusing on family law, criminal defense and personal injury.

We offer a strong base salary with eligibility for benefits, after initial period of employment. Office hours are daytime, paid on an hourly basis.

We are open to part-time or a regular work week, between 20 and 36 hours per week, a three day (part-time) up to five day work week, as we value having a life outside of work.

The position primarily provides support to three attorneys and one other paralegal and functions as part of a team.

Candidates will need to be comfortable and capable of working with people accused of all sorts of crimes and people who are experiencing an emotional crisis.

Benefits are available after initial period of employment, TBD.

Job responsibilities include:

general office support; answering phones; drafting pleadings, merge forms and other documents; interacting with court clerks, government staff, and opposing counsel and their staff for scheduling and general legal support; scheduling and calendaring court dates, interviews and other appointments for attorneys; maintaining a scheduling calendar; phone calls with clients; deadline tracking, follow-up tickling and additional legal support tasks.
