Duties & Responsibilities
THE HUMAN FACTORS ENGINEER WILL
• Understands human interfaces with complex systems Experienced with Human Computer or Human Robotic Interfaces.
• Ability to assess human interfaces for usability, cognitive ease, and other important factors Knowledge of best practices in human-centered design.
• Some software experience preferred.
• Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area. Experience with software veri¿cation and validation processes Experience with complex distributed systems.
Experience with one or more of the following
• Human performance.
• Human interface.
• Human error avoidance.
• Design for usability.
• Design for maintainability.
• Accident avoidance.
• Safety hazard avoidance.
• Risk mitigation.
• Environmental limits & controls.
• Experience with autonomous systems.
• Experience with mission and safety critical systems.
• Remote operations experience.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills and strong customer service attitude.
REQUISITION PREFERENCES
• Spacecraft Avionics and Software Architecture experience. NASA software and systems development standards.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency maybe a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
