Job Description

Overview:

The Molecular Biology Technical Sales Specialist Leader will be responsible for owning the business in Eastern North America, defining the most effective product and solution strategy according to the regional markets, and ensuring their commercial organization in the Region is fully aligned and capable of implementing this strategy This individual will be responsible for the accelerated growth of the portfolio under their leadership.

The candidate must be an innovator, team-oriented sales leader, with a proven executive presence, strong communication and presentation skills, and skilled in driving sales. This individual is responsible for implementing business strategies, forecasting, and providing marketing/competitive feedback and customer satisfaction relative to sales activities.

The role is accountable for positioning our molecular biology solutions across all customer segments. We are mainly responsible for accelerating the growth in a sophisticated sales environment where expertise and specialization are required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and implement business strategies in partnership with extended selling team
  • Accountable for developing TSS team's ability to achieve performance goals
  • Lead and empower sales activities of the company in Eastern North America
  • Implement management processes that ensure consistent, timely and successful execution of the sales team's strategies and objectives
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, empower and mentor the TSS team
  • Accurately forecast product sales and revenues
  • Develop and implement comprehensive plans/programs, both short and long range, to support sales and revenue objectives
  • Participate in strategic market research
Education:
  • BA or BS required in Biology, Molecular Biology or related scientific field.
  • Requires 7+ years' experience in sales
  • Prefer sales management experience, strog leadership skills
  • Masters (MSc) degree preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of molecular biology strongly preferred.
  • Experience in managing a selling organization in North America, or a demonstrable understanding of business practice in the Life Science industry. Familiarity with funding practices with respect to the life sciences industry as well as an existing network of KOL and policy makers.
  • Experience in managing collaborators in a matrixed environment preferably on a global basis.

  • Proficient written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology principles, methods, and applications
  • Proficient in strategic and tactical thinking about the business, developing actionable business plans
  • Strong presentation skills for both technical and sales related materials
  • Strong analytical and business planning skills
  • Flexible, adaptable and open to change
  • Ability to travel up to 60%
