The Role
  • We are looking for an Lead IT Infrastructure Engineer to work critical data center environments at the IT Zuni Data Center.
  • The position will be based out the 5325 Zuni St, Denver CO 80221 facility.
  • The position will be required to over-see routine and emergency service on state of the art critical systems (e.g., switchgear, diesel generators, fire alarm/suppression systems, PDU's, UPS, and HVAC systems).
  • He/she will interface directly with CenturyLink Corporate Real Estate (CRE), equipment vendors, CTL Network and data center operations personnel.
  • The position will also help ensure strict adherence to MOPs (Method's of Procedures) and company policy and procedure; aide in scheduling and managing vendors and subcontractors; ensure the proper maintenance of the equipment; and enforce all approved procedures in the event of a environmental system failure.
  • The individual will also be responsible for capacity and life cycle management of the environmental assets as well as being responsible for the control and inventory of all environmental assets within the data center and will insure that equipment was received and correctly recorded.
The Main Responsibilities
  • Essential
    • Bachelor's degree (undergraduate) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • 5+ years of relevant experience (experience with power, electrical and mechanical equipment including generators, critical and essential PDU's, UPS, switchgear, chillers, computer grade cooling systems, AC Power Systems).
    • 5+ years experience installing computer hardware in a large multi-vendor data center.
      Prior experience in a similar job at CTL or another medium to large company.
    • Strong organizational skills.
    • The ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects and good oral and written communication skills.
    • Must be available to work emergency service and shift work as required.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
    • The normal scheduled shift hours for the position will be Monday-Friday days. However, the position will be expected to work nights and weekends whenever scheduled projects and maintenance work requires that the work be performed during those timeframes due to potential service impacts.

  • Additional Job Expectations
    • Expected to work with peers in the IT OPS Facility Engineering/Real Estate group to share knowledge and assist in the development of common guidelines and processes.
    • Expected to utilize other computer-based tools as part of the day-to-day administrative part of the job: Microsoft Office, Outlook, Service Now (Problem/Change Management), Clarity, Asset Center, CellWatch (battery monitoring).
  • Expected to be able to work with others in a multi-functional environment.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Consulting Level Bachelor's degree. Typically with 8+ years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Master's Degree.
