Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a Manager, Product Development II, Soft Goods, to join our Chewy Brands Team based in Plantation, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for helping the Chewy Brands Product Development team to develop and deliver the best-in-class pet products. What You will Do:

  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Analyze market data to provide insights into potential product opportunities and gaps in current offerings.
  • Responsible for collaborating and executing new initiatives and roadmaps each year.
  • Execute product development milestones and calendar due dates.
  • Work with suppliers to meet product requirements, including design/quality specs, material/construction, and target costing.
  • Continually identify and drive improvements in existing product lines to deliver a better-performing product.
  • Define product requirements, features, and specifications based on market research and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Platforms, QA, Design, Marketing, Legal, and others to ensure successful communication and launch.
  • Be the category product expert - be knowledgeable, own, and manage all aspects of product development for assigned categories.
  • Align cross-functionally on the execution of development to drive decision-making.
  • Act as the product "expert" for cross-functional team member questions and concerns.
  • Own concept/prototype/sampling stages to finished product.
  • Review & complete full item setup in PLM.
  • Manage packaging reviews for SKUs, product descriptions, UPCs, and content to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Maintain product information, content attribution, spec sheets, and other data in the PLM system.
  • Own the tracking of PDPs pre-launch, including the status of image assets, descriptions, copy, size charts, and submission of product attributes, and follow up with internal teams to ensure all pages are launch-ready.
  • Monitor recently launched products, identifying PDP enhancement opportunities, and addressing customer reviews promptly.
  • Travel to attend tradeshows and suppliers domestically and internationally to gain knowledge and develop the best products.

  • Creativity, flexibility, adaptability, and initiative.
  • Must be a deadline-oriented multitasker with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external partners at all levels.
  • Create relationships with suppliers to ensure timeline management and ownership of all critical dates.
  • A strong sense of urgency is imperative.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage large-scale projects/programs.
  • Experience developing products with domestic and overseas factories/suppliers.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Impeccable organization and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of product life cycle.
  • Availability for night and weekend work due to global support (occasionally)
  • Proficiency in Excel (vlookups/pivots), knowledge of SQL, PLM is a plus.
  • Preferred: Experience in hardgoods/apparel industry
