Key Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Operator/Technician II is tasked with all activities related to the production of pharmaceutical products, adhering to established Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), customer specifications, and all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). This role is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient performance of job responsibilities while maintaining product compliance with set standards.

  • Accurately complete Batch Record and logbook documentation.
  • Perform cleaning procedures for pharmaceutical production equipment and facilities.
  • Operate production machinery and follow manufacturing processes including dispensing, mixing, coating, encapsulating, granulating, drying, milling, blending, and compressing.
  • Conduct total changeovers and cleaning tasks.
  • Identify and assist in resolving processing-related issues.
  • Maintain production reports for assigned operations.
  • Conduct in-process product quality checks and document findings accurately.
  • Execute tasks in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Assist in training new production trainees and operators.
  • Determine methods and procedures for new assignments and support other personnel as needed.
  • Communicate issues effectively to supervisors.
  • Adhere to all cGMPs, compliance mandates, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet departmental and company goals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Metric and English measurement systems.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical machinery and control systems.
  • Strong mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, including SOPs and Batch Record documentation.
  • Accurate and precise data recording skills.
  • Capability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Proficient in reading and writing English for understanding work instructions and documenting results.
  • Ability to operate pharmaceutical processing equipment.
  • Understanding of cGMP standards.
  • Experience in assisting with on-the-job training for manufacturing trainees and operators.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferred two years of related experience or equivalent technical training/certification, or a combination of experience and training.
Physical Requirements

The physical demands for this position include:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, grasp, feel, talk, and hear without assistance.
  • Capability to lift or carry a minimum of 30 kg independently and heavier weights with assistance.
  • Ability to move machinery and containers as required.
  • Flexibility to work various operational shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Visual acuity to judge distances and identify colors.
  • Ability to operate industrial vehicles for transferring production equipment.
Work Environment

The work environment may include:

  • Moderate noise levels requiring clear communication.
  • Proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to chemicals.
  • Conditions that may expose individuals to dust, with protective equipment available.
  • Requirements to wear respiratory and hearing protection as necessary.
