We are currently seeking Field Site Technician. This position requires strong experience with a background in mechanical and maintenance work as well as in depth knowledge of mining equipment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

The Field Site Technician is responsible for providing hands-on field Installation, repairs, and technical support for Metso customers and/or third-party contractors in existing and/or newly acquired retrofit/rebuild/replacement equipment. Project the image of Metso as the service-oriented company to depend on for competent field service/ LCS support on mining equipment for maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and operation.
  • Perform at field assignment location, study, plan, and prepare for field work based on the detailed scope of work, drawings, specifications, Metso and customer policies/procedures/rules/regulations/safety, specific instructions, etc.
  • Provide technical and hands-on service to ensure safety and proper equipment and system maintenance is in accordance with contract designs and drawing requirements.
  • Perform various millwright tasks such as, but not limited to, installation & commissioning Crusher, Screen, Mills, etc.
  • Repair and maintenance various types of process equipment such as crushers, screens, mills, etc.
  • Read Micrometers, Calipers, Machinist Levels, Pi Tapes as well as other precision measuring equipment, Screen check, Scan machine, vibration tools, thickness tools and other NDT tools.
  • Troubleshoot fit/form problems and advise/assist on corrective action and repairs.
  • Keep Field Service Supervisor/ manager or project manager up to date on field progress, problems, delays, etc.
  • Keep accurate records regarding job progress, delays, problems, deliveries, changes, extras, and engineering, refurbish and fabrication errors.
  • Document all job historical, improvement and long-term plan.
  • Communications with planner, supervisors, Supt. to ensure satisfaction with parts, job progress and quality.
  • Insure client issues proper documentation for extra work and changes.
  • Work in liaison with the various technical support departments within the Metso organization.
  • Perform accurate equipment condition monitoring and simple analysis based.
  • Collect data on a planned schedule (maintenance plans) using standard FM routes, CMMS, tools, and processes.
  • Create reports and recommendation for all findings that require a maintenance action using the standard report format. RCA/5W report when action is required.
  • Collect all parts related to their calls for RCA/5W review and any other components changed for any other reason on equipment being monitored (all changed components or pieces). Verification that data collected is giving expected results.
  • Provide recommendations/changes to avoid having the same failure. Share data with team.
  • Stay at customers site or visit with the LCS, field service to develop and grow service business opportunities.
  • Perform work using safe and proper methods and procedures to maintain and repair Metso equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the LCS Supervisors or Field Service/LCS Manager.
  • Overtime work often required (evenings, weekends, holidays).

    WHO YOU ARE:
    • Bachelor's degree preferred in engineering.
    • Diploma degree from relevant engineering with minimum 2 years' experience in field service/maintenance
    • Five or more years of mechanical maintenance experience
    • Requires the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
    • Ability to make mechanical drawings with geometric tolerances is required.
    • Understand both Metric and Imperial dimensions.
    • Clear communication skills both verbally and written (English & Bahasa).
    • Incorporate safety into daily work life.
    • Work directly with Safety, Supervisors, and co-workers to conduct the work safely.
    • Management and business literacy skills.
    • Exhibit a commitment to quality ethics.
    • Be self-directed and motivated.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills required combined with accuracy and attention to details (English and Bahasa)
    • Knowledge of process equipment such as crushers, screens, mills, conveyers, pumps, etc.
    • Must have a talent for working with other people effectively, fellow employees, customers,contractors.
    • Mechanical knowledge and abilities a must.
    • Capability of making quick, accurate decisions relative to problem solution and problem liability.
    • Must be well organized and able to maintain accurate records and communicate reliable
    • information through detailed technical reports.
    • Capability to understand the various product applications marketed by Metso.
    • Ability to read and interpret imperial and metric measurers, and engineering and architectural drawings. Ability to use and interpret dial indicators, calipers, micrometres is a plus.
    • Ability to use all extremities to efficiently operate manual tools, power tools, office, and computer equipment.
    • Climbing of, and working on, stairs, ladders, and scaffolding, occasionally at extreme heights, is required.
    • Capable of performing basic torch cutting skills using oxygen and acetylene, air arc.
    • Must understand basic rigging.
    • Knowledge and experience RCM.
    • Developing the RCM routes and ensuring accurate data is obtained.
    • Must be well organized and able to maintain accurate records and communicate reliable
    • information through detailed technical reports.
    • Ability to travel.
    • Ability to stay in remote locations for extended periods and have the stamina to work long hours during emergency breakdowns and peak periods.
    • Must have the stamina to work extended hours. Requires the ability to work in a variety of environments that may include exposure to heat, cold, humidity, fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, loud noise, and all types of weather conditions.
    • Good attendance record and willingness to work rotating shifts (roster 12 weeks on site and 2 weeks off site), or long hours (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) or roster depend of job and project (Special case).
