Job Summary

Responsible for the execution of the innovation strategy at CEMEX USA. This position will work with CEMEX employees to promote the development of meaningfully unique ideas, to evaluate their economic and technical feasibility, to develop their business cases, to run testing cycles, and to follow up their execution and implementation when ideas become projects.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coach actual and potential ideators on all stages of the idea development process
  • Work closely with experts from the different areas of the company (innovation committee, subject matter experts, and innovation champions) to define opportunities that require innovation
  • Coordinate extended teams (Innovation Committee and Innovation Champions) to further support ideators
  • Manage Innovation learning experiences including blue and black belt certification programs
  • Lead Innovation sessions and events: Hackathons, Innovation month, and Innovation workshops among others
  • Implement and lead the plan to create a stronger culture of innovation
  • Propose innovative process, structures, and business models aimed at enhancing the company's innovation offering.
  • Manage and execute the Innovation annual communication plan
  • Manage internal Innovation Platforms: Idea Submission Portal and Portfolio Management Tool
  • Research innovative practices and proven successful ideas within and outside CEMEX USA to propose local replication plans
  • Define and communicate innovation metrics aimed to improve the company's innovative performance

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, analytics, or operations research. MBA preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience on consulting, planning or finance, business development, analytics, and/or innovation specific roles.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven ability to work closely with employees of multiple organizational levels
  • Strong project management, strategic analysis, and planning skills
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • Good understanding of the building materials industry highly preferred
  • Expertise on analytics, digitalization, technology, and/or optimization techniques
  • Able to take a leadership role in coordinating effectively projects execution that require multifunctional team members.
  • Highly proficient in Excel, data visualization tools (such as Power BI), statistical tools (like jump), and optimization tools, to transform data into information to support better decision making around opportunities.
  • Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines, and manage a heavy workload
  • Some knowledge of agile, automation, design thinking, the internet of things, and artificial intelligence would set candidates apart.

Working Conditions
  • Capability to work extended hours as necessary
  • Ability to work with standard office/computer Equipment
  • Capable of working in an open office environment
  • Travel required with overnight stays (up to 10% per year)
Physical Requirements

Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree

Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently

Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors
