About the Role:

Misfits Market is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team. This senior leadership position is crucial in driving our people strategy and fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture. The Director of Human Resources will report directly to the Chief Human Resource Officer and will oversee the HRBP responsibilities, Employee Experience efforts alongside the Learning and Development (L&D) and Engagement team, and will serve as a business partner to our remote or onsite back office teams ensuring that all HR initiatives align with Misfits Market's mission to eliminate food waste and provide affordable access to quality groceries

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Experience:

  • Lead the Employee Experience Team in designing and implementing initiatives that enhance the overall employee journey from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Develop strategies to improve employee satisfaction, retention, and productivity.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, belonging, and well-being, ensuring all employees feel valued and supported.

Learning and Development (L&D):

  • Oversee the development and execution of comprehensive L&D programs that support career growth and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify skill gaps and create targeted training initiatives.
  • Implement innovative training methods and tools to enhance employee development and performance.

Engagement:

  • Design and manage programs to boost employee engagement and morale, aligning with Misfits Market's core values and objectives.
  • Conduct regular employee surveys and feedback sessions to gauge engagement levels and identify areas for improvement.
  • Organize and promote events, activities, and recognition programs that foster team spirit and a positive work environment.

Strategic Partnership and HRBP Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior leaders and managers to understand business strategies and objectives, and align HR initiatives to support them.
  • Provide strategic guidance on HR-related matters, including talent management, organizational design, workforce planning, and change management.
  • Serve as a primary contact for employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Handle employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and recommend resolutions to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of talent management strategies, including succession planning, career development, and performance management.
  • Partner with leaders to identify and address skill gaps and development needs.
  • Facilitate the performance appraisal process, including goal setting, feedback, and performance reviews.
  • Provide coaching and support to managers in addressing performance issues and implementing improvement plans.
  • Organize and promote events, activities, and recognition programs that foster team spirit and a positive work environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing Employee Experience, L&D, and Engagement.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful HR strategies and programs.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
