This position will be responsible for the financial management of the Colonial Practice. Position will interface with Colonial finance/accounting POC and Colonial leadership team and operational team to analyze metrics and make recommendations for efficiencies and financial improvement. The person will also interact with Optum Health accounting and finance teams on reporting requirements. This position will report into the CFO for the Mid-Atlantic Region.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Setting annual budget and providing ongoing financial analysis of development and operational results against the budget
  • Perform financial analysis to support the management of the business to include real estate, utilization of providers and provider hiring, and medical management cost, and other ad hoc analysis
  • Perform full P&L financial modeling to support FP&A month end close process and forecasting cycles
  • Analyze data and synthesize information in a way that highlights how business, market, and industry factors impact financial performance. Perform variance analysis and bridge financial results across all periods of interest
  • Develop systems for key financial and operating initiatives, as needed, as business growth occurs and matures
  • Provide finance leadership to Colonial leaders and supervise local Colonial finance personnel
  • As region grows, position may be involved in oversight of future CDO clinic financials

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors' degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business
  • 5+ years of finance/accounting experience
  • Experience with financial statement analysis and working knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience working collaboratively and influencing others within a matrix organization
  • Intermediate proficiency or above in MS Excel skills, including significant financial modeling experience
  • Proven ability to work independently with little supervision, prioritize work and be a self-starter
  • Proven excellent written communication skills and the ability to verbally communicate ideas clearly & confidently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • Healthcare, Technology, and/or Revenue Cycle Management experience
  • Experience with planning tools (ex: Essbase)
  • Understanding of third-party contracts and concepts

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
