About the Role:

King County Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) is looking for a Human Resource Talent Coordinator to join the Human Resources team The HR Associate will be a key member of the Talent Acquisition team and will be responsible for support for recruiting processes and several special HR projects.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a large, direct impact within WTD as the HR team innovates and implements changes to support the rapidly growing division.

This is also a great opportunity for individuals who would like to learn more and develop skills within the Human Resources fieldSuccessful candidates will possess customer service and communication skills coupled with the ability to multitask various administrative assignments.

This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy on work tasks, great organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritize and complete multiple critical requests.

A good sense of humor is important, as is the capacity to be flexible and to change direction at a moment's notice.

Successful candidates will be able to complete complex tasks and projects quickly with limited guidance, react with appropriate urgency to situations that require a quick turnaround, be able to take effective action without having to know the total picture, and efficiently and proactively solve difficult or complex problems that affect staff inside and outside the section.

The ability to utilize tact and diplomacy in accomplishing all these tasks is critical.

Our primary mission is to provide high-quality treatment to wastewater collected from local sewer agencies. With a workforce of about 800 employees and multiple facilities, we serve a population of 1.5 million people.

Job Duties

What You Will Be Doing:

Use PeopleSoft, NEOGOV, Word, Excel, and Teams to complete recruiting activities and projects; assist with the maintenance of personnel and human resources files and records, including Laserfiche administration.

Provide support with HR process creation and data tracking.

Provide recruiting support, including candidate outreach, scheduling, materials coordination, recruitment events, acts and acting as the designated back-up for HR Analyst Recruiters.

Assist in new employee pre-employment processing and onboarding support.
Assist with a variety of HR/recruiting special projects.

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

Qualifications You Bring:


Highly proficient in the use of various computer software such as but not limited to: Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams.

Progressive experience providing customer service, human resources, or administrative support.
Experience with or working knowledge of an applicant tracking or customer relationship management system.
Experience working with data entry and basic data analysis.
Experience working with the public and/or diverse constituencies.

SHRM or HRCI certified or AA/BS in Human Resources.
Experience working with confidential records and/or materials.
Experience with or working knowledge of NEOGOV.
Experience with or working knowledge of PeopleSoft or other enterprise level Human Resource Information System

Working Conditions:

Remote and Onsite Work Details:

Employees in this role work remotely from a home location, with onsite reporting requirements up to 1 time a week.

The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. Onsite reporting locations may be at various King County worksites including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S.

Jackson St, Seattle, WA This work arrangement promotes work-life-balance and reduces carbon footprint under the department's vision of Green Where We Work.


Requirement:

Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.


Work Schedule:

This position is non-exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible.


Union Representation:
Teamsters Local 117 Professional & Technical and Administrative Support collective bargaining agreement.

Pursuant to Article 14.4 Western Conference of Teamster Pension Trust, $1.00 per hour from the base wage will be submitted to the Western Conference of Teamsters Pension Trust Fund.


Duration:

This recruitment aims to fill a Special Duty Assignment (SDA) / Term-Limited Temporary (TLT) position with an anticipated six-month to one year.
