The Role:

As the Senior Director of mData Strategy at Moderna, you will play a pivotal role in leading our mData platform initiative, directly reporting to VP, Data Science. This position is crucial for leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to enhance data capabilities across the company, thereby transforming our operational efficiency and innovation capacity. You will be responsible for setting strategic direction, driving the adoption of mData across all business units, and ensuring the mData platform meets the evolving needs of our enterprise.

Here's What Youll Do:

Lead the strategic vision and operational execution of the mData platform, ensuring alignment with Modernas broader data and AI objectives. Collaborate with business and digital leaders across the company to integrate mData solutions, facilitating a unified, user-centric data ecosystem. Drive the development and implementation of advanced data analytics, machine learning models, and AI capabilities within the mData platform. Ensure mData's architecture supports high-volume, complex data operations, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and data governance practices. Manage cross-functional teams to deliver on mData initiatives, fostering innovation, agility, and a data-driven culture within Moderna. Spearhead mData adoption across business units, empowering teams to leverage the platform for strategic insights and operational excellence. Oversee vendor relationships and technology partnerships to enhance mData capabilities and ensure the platform remains at the cutting edge. Establish and maintain robust mData governance frameworks, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance across all operations. Act as a thought leader in data strategy and artificial intelligence within the enterprise and in the broader industry, representing Moderna at conferences and forums. Heres What Youll Bring to the Table: 15+ years of leadership experience in data strategy, analytics, and digital transformation within enterprise environments, with a proven track record of driving data-centric innovations. Demonstrated expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics, with experience in implementing these technologies to drive business outcomes. Strong leadership skills, with experience managing diverse teams and complex, cross-functional projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. In-depth knowledge of data management technologies, platforms, and practices, with experience in cloud-based data ecosystems and services. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and data governance standards applicable to the biopharma industry. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Biotechnology, or a related field is required. A Masters degree or higher in a related discipline is preferred. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences. Strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate future data needs and trends, and align mData strategy accordingly. Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description. Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $209,000to $376,000. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills. Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case.
