The Event Technology team is looking for a Senior Director of Software Engineering to deliver transformational change to our in-person, digital, and on-demand event experiences The Event Technology team delivers a cutting-edge technology stack that enhances in-person, digital ), and on-demand experiences across Salesforce's event portfolio. Our industry-leading platforms and solutions help connect target audiences to the content they need, when and where they need it so that it is as easy as possible for them to learn how to use Salesforce products and drive business growth.

Candidates for this role will have extensive background in leading the development of sophisticated marketing, events, and content-based experiences with global teams at scale. This is a senior leadership role reporting to the VP, Events Technology and is responsible for delivering capabilities for internal and external Salesforce customers with a focus on innovating with Salesforce products.

This person will lead a global team of software engineers with a focus on fostering and building engaging and elevating experiences for Salesforce customers and Trailblazers. The ideal candidate will have proven success in defining technical strategy, organizational design, vision, architecture and leading stakeholder engagement while building and leading teams running engineering backlogs.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, develop, and cultivate amazing people and teams.
  • Vigilantly focus on customer success.
  • Oversee delivery of products and projects involving a variety of technologies and ensure solutions align with long-term objectives.
  • Lead decision-making and collaboration across a broad network of stakeholders, delivery partners, and operational teams.
  • Maintain and lead awareness of industry best practices and relevant technologies.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 12+ years meaningful experience in software engineering and delivery
  • 8+ years management of engineering staff
  • Significant experience in scrum/agile practices and backlog management
  • Managing global teams at scale across multiple hubs and timezones
  • Managing vendor partners and teams extended with contractors
  • Delivery accountability for complex development scenarios and technology
  • Experience in Marketing, Events, Mobile, and Content based apps
  • Managing development of customer facing/public properties
  • Content Management system experience preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to oversee multiple complex project deliveries in parallel
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $224,100 to $341,900.Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
