Currently, we are on the lookout for a Control Systems Engineer to join our team at the corporate headquarters located in Houston. This role entails a range of essential functions and responsibilities including:

  • Development of PLC/HMI solutions for process monitoring and control applications.
  • Writing programs for diverse control systems like Allen Bradley, Siemens, Modicon, SCADAPack, and more.
  • Interpreting technical documentation such as P&IDs, ladder logic, function block code, schematics, loop sheets, manuals, etc.
  • Defining control system designs and associated documentation.
  • Collaborating with clients to review control system designs.
  • Engaging in process simulation activities.
  • Specifying and procuring hardware/software necessary for projects.
  • Contributing to the development of software standards to facilitate modular and scalable solutions.
  • Providing support for start-up services, troubleshooting, and training for commissioned systems.
  • Willingness to travel, with the required travel expected to be up to 25%.

The ideal candidate for this position will:

  • Have experience in designing and commissioning control systems for ground water, surface water, and wastewater utility systems.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical, Controls, or Systems Engineering or Engineering Technology (BS preferred)

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience in designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and commissioning PLC/HMI and SCADA applications utilizing products like Allen Bradley, Schneider, MapleSystems, Ignition, etc.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting ladder logic.
  • Familiarity with integrating devices from various vendors into a cohesive solution.
  • Knowledge of computer networking architectures, topologies, and hardware.
  • Skilled in utilizing Microsoft operating systems and software applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment, self-driven, and results-oriented.
  • Experience with AutoCAD software.
