Clinic Assistant

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a full-time Clinic Assistant to join our New Hope Outpatient Clinic. This position is a vital point of contact for consumers seeking and receiving services at our outpatient mental health clinics. This includes welcoming visitors, providing non-clinical information, collecting co-pays, entering health insurance and consumer demographic information into the electronic health record, appointment scheduling as needed, and minor general administrative support for the clinic.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 9:30am - 6:00pm. Flexibility on Fridays

or a schedule of Monday-Thursday, four-10hr shifts

Location: 5555 Boone Ave N, New Hope, MN In-office position

Hiring Range: $ $22.00/Hourly, based on qualifications

Hiring Bonus: $1,000 to external candidates

Main Job Duties:

  • Must be able to meet requirements of in-office presence.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service skills to consumers/visitors in the clinic and on the phone. Greet consumers in a respectful manner and demonstrate professional telephone and email etiquette.
  • Monitor telephone queue and voicemails closely to ensure consumers' phone calls are answered in a timely manner.
  • Schedule appointments as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Verify and complete necessary information for new consumer registration, including the collection of consumer demographics, insurance information, and appropriate forms, questionnaires, or other paperwork. Enter consumer information into the electronic health record.
  • Identify and accurately collect co-pays or appropriate fees.
  • Serve as a role model within the clinic area to support the mission of People Incorporated.
  • Attendance is an essential function of this position.

  • Passing all background and requirements for facility and position

Required Qualifications: Clinic Assistant I

  • Associates in Arts degree
  • Minimum of one year of prior administrative support experience.
  • In lieu of an Associates in Arts degree and one year of prior experience, a high school diploma and three years of administrative experience may be substituted

Required Qualifications: Clinic Assistant II

  • Associates in Arts degree
  • Graduate of a formal training program in medical reception, customer service or equivalent
  • One year experience as a receptionist, scheduler, or administrative assistant in a medical or clinic setting.
  • One year experience working with individuals who have mental illness.
  • In lieu of an Associates in Arts degree and one year of prior experience as a receptionist, scheduler, or administrative assistant in a medical or clinic setting, a high school diploma and three years of this experience may be substituted.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate of a formal training program in medical reception, customer service or equivalent.
  • Experience as a receptionist, scheduler, or administrative assistant in a medical or clinic setting.
  • Experience working with individuals who have mental illness.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with prior administrative support experience within a not-for-profit environment.
