About the role:

In this exciting role, you will be instrumental to define and implement key elements of the P&C Re Operational Excellence strategy. You will be working with key partners to implement Swiss Re's business strategy, our mandates, processes, systems, skills, team structure, etc. In this position, you will be accountable for defining key operational excellence concepts, to develop, streamline and quantify business. You will report directly to the Head of Operational Excellence Property & Casualty (P&C).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global ownership of core transformational topics such as continuous improvement, systems thinking, problem solving, solution definition, process improvement, project delivery, change management.
  • Sell the vision be the face of the transformation.
  • Identify, plan, setup and implement changes which will define Swiss Re's target operating model.
  • Bring in solution ideas and use problem solving methodologies (such as DMAIC/Six Sigma, Lean, Design Thinking, Systems Thinking).
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with business experts (SME's) related to assigned projects.
  • Provide insight for the business on topics such as staffing needs, talent & skill development and recommend training areas as the need arises. Develop functional, technical and system workflow solutions.
  • Define metrics used to manage process improvements and reports.
  • Connect with other OpEx to link transformational topics together into a cohesive plan.

About the Team:

P&C Operational Excellence is a small global team of transformation experts to collaborate closely with senior management and business experts.

Based on the overall strategy and individual demand, we deploy concepts, analytics, problem solving, project management, change management, and/or influencing skills. We act as a partner, challenger, facilitator to provide the best possible outcome.

As a small team we each have our project ownership and collaborate on end-2-end thinking and skill exchange.

About you:

You are a self-motivated, independent individual with a strategic mindset, analytical and presentation skills. You bring a strong drive for organizational transformation as well as the desire to deliver on the goals of the organization. You bring in:

  • Strong strategic consulting background with understanding and usage of data analysis, problem solving, project management, solution definition, and organisational change tools & techniques.
  • Proven ability to create concepts for operational excellence topics and present them to senior management.
  • Experience in conducting Kaizen/RIE (Rapid Improvement Events): definition, implementation, and execution of collaborative workshops with stakeholders to define a new or improved business process.
  • Strong PC skills: MS, Project, Word, Visio, SharePoint, plus process mapping tools such as ARIS.
  • Ability to travel to global SwissRe locations.

Nice to have:

  • Good data literacy with usage of data analysis tools such as Excel, PowerBI, Stargate, etc. a strong plus.
  • Good understanding of insurance and reinsurance business and product knowledge a plus.
  • PROSCI / ADKAR, PMP, Six Sigma certification a plus.
