Join Travelers - Workers Compensation Claim Professional Trainee

Who Are We?
Travelers' Claim Organization is crucial to our business. By providing assurance during challenging times, the Travelers Workers Compensation Claim team partners with our business insurance clients to facilitate the return of their injured employees to work when medically appropriate.

As a Workers Compensation Claim Professional Trainee, you'll manage all aspects of workers compensation claims. Acquire the necessary technical skills for quality claim handling, from investigation to resolution on losses of lesser complexity. Participate in claim handling throughout the claim life cycle.

What Will You Do?

  • Complete virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training preparing employees for their roles. Progression to the next level position necessitates successful completion of an internal training program.
  • Handle all facets of Workers Compensation claims, including investigations, reserves, and various claim-related decisions under supervision.
  • Communicate claim status to relevant parties, such as business customers, injured employees, medical providers, and legal counsel.
  • Investigate, develop, and evaluate action plans for claim resolution, with a focus on determining claim compensability under Workers Compensation.
  • Prioritize and manage a Workers Compensation claim inventory effectively, including documentation and completion of time-sensitive letters and state forms.
  • Participate in Telephonic and/or onsite File Reviews.
  • Obtain and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to meet state and Travelers' requirements within three months of starting.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 2 years of work or customer service-related experience.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities amid ambiguity.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to achieve optimal claim outcomes.
  • Ownership and management of all assigned tasks with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Independence and teamwork ability.

What is a Must Have?

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of customer service experience OR Bachelor's Degree.
