Director of Sales

We are in search of a positive, talented, aggressive, energetic, creative and highly motivated sales leader to join our team as our Director of Sales. This individual will lead the sales team in their efforts to market a full service Holiday Inn hotel. This is an exciting opportunity for a sales leader to expand their horizons. One who will contribute to the team by using proactive sales techniques and establish a positive image in the community. One who will possess outstanding direct sales ability and through aggressive, tenacious direct sales focus within the corporate/group market segment, execution of direct sales strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction.
What you will be doingMaking sales calls (internal and external) to prospective clients and re-establishing old relationships as well as maintaining current.Schedule clients for on-site tours/visits.
Participate in weekly sales meeting.
Complete daily call reports, weekly activity report and weekly call plans.
Assists in the development and update of the hotel property's business plan to include input on negotiated corporate business market sales goals and plans that support the overall business and sales strategies of the hotel.
Maintain a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
The DOS will be responsible for soliciting local/national businesses and groups to capitalize on revenue opportunities.
Must coordinate activities related to securing and servicing group and individual travel accounts within various departments.
The ideal candidate for this position3 years + hotel sales experience within the tour and travel/ group market with proven track record for success in sales and revenue generation.
Experience with IHG or similar brand preferred.
Strong solicitation/prospecting skills. A team player who enjoys the sales aspects of closing the deal
Ability to follow through and complete multi tasks. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Excellent interpersonal skills and superior guest service skills
Actively participate in industry related organizations
Effective time Management
Candidate is expected to be proficient in revenue management, budget development, market analysis, management, and reporting. In addition, interested candidates must be proficient in MSWord and Excel, and be able to utilize computer software programs which analyze the success of the hotel. Exceptional communication skills for outside sales calls and presentations are required. The successful candidate will represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times. Travel will be required; primarily in the area but may include trips within the state of Florida as well as other areas to attend trade shows, training conferences, client visits, company meetings, etc. Insurable driving record and proof of personal auto insurance are required. Hours may include occasional evenings, weekends or holidays based upon business needs. Benefitspaid vacation
