Heres What Youll Do:

Lead Global IP Litigation: Drive the strategy for managing Modernas global IP litigation and opposition matters with an act with urgency approach, understanding the direct impact on Modernas mission and the patients we serve.Strategic Counsel: In collaboration with the SVP, Intellectual Property, develop a forward-looking, strategic approach to IP litigation, incorporating the mindset of pushing past possible to navigate the complexities of global intellectual property challenges.Manage Outside Counsel: Optimize the management of a diverse team of outside counsel, embodying the pivot fearlessly mindset by adapting strategies in response to evolving legal landscapes and business needs.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ensure alignment with finance, corporate communications, and other key departments, demonstrating the remove viscosity mindset to facilitate smooth and informed decision-making processes.Discovery and Litigation Efficiency: Address discovery and litigation challenges with a focus on efficiency and minimal business disruption, applying the digitize everywhere possible mindset to leverage technology in streamlining processes.Team Leadership and Development: Lead by example, fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and accountability within the IP team, demonstrating the obsess over learning and behave like owners mindsets to cultivate a high-performing team aligned with Modernas goals.What Youll Bring to the Table:
Basic Qualifications: J.D. from a national law school and admission to any state bar in the United States; eligible to register as in-house counsel in the State of Massachusetts. A minimum of 15 years of experience in IP litigation, with a preference for global experience and a proven track record in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry. Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the capability to build and lead a high-performing team. Preferred Qualifications: A strategic and creative approach to litigation, anticipating future challenges and crafting innovative solutions, reflecting the question convention mindset. Demonstrated ability to balance risk with opportunity, making informed decisions that align with Modernas strategic objectives and the accept risk as the only path to impact mindset. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously with a dynamic range in action and thought. Strong executive presence, with the skill to communicate complex matters in an easily understandable manner, fostering collaboration and influencing outcomes in line with the collaborative aspect of Modernas culture.
