Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Senior Coordinator for Admission and Diversity Initiatives develops and facilitates comprehensive strategies for recruitment targeting underrepresented student populations with an emphasis on LatinX students under the direction of the Associate Director of Admissions and Diversity Initiatives.
The Senior Coordinator will be responsible for supporting relationships with school district administrators and staff, university personnel, and community based organizations for the purpose of developing and sustaining special outreach programs and partnerships targeting underrepresented student populations with an emphasis on LatinX students. The Senior Coordinator will work under the guidance of the Associate Director of Admissions and Diversity Initiatives to execute a recruitment plan that supports the University's commitment to diversity.
The Senior Coordinator will assist with the training and coordination of admission staff, current students, faculty, staff, and alumni in activities and initiatives that advance the university's mission to maintain a diverse student body. The Senior Coordinator will assist prospective students and families with the college application process; monitor and analyze trends in diversity; and cultivate and maintain relationships with access-oriented agencies and related external organizations aimed at providing pathways to admission for underrepresented populations including students of color.
The Senior Coordinator will also serve as a member of the admissions committee and review for general admissions to the university, represent the university at high school visits and college fairs in an assigned recruitment territory, conduct group presentations at events on and off campus, and participate in the development and execution of campus and yield events and projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree preferred.
Candidates should have a minimum of three (3) years experience in college or university admissions, multicultural affairs, or a related field, as well as demonstrated experience working with students and families from backgrounds that are underrepresented in higher education. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a positive attitude, excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills; a strong sense of initiative and self-direction; an ability to interact positively and professionally with students, parents, and alumni, and successfully work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Candidates must also be available to travel, and to work evenings and weekends at various times during the year. Must possess high energy, self-motivation, initiative, creativity, strong time management sills, a positive attitude and resourcefulness.
Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License.
Candidates must also be fluent in Spanish. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience related to the recruitment and yield of LatinX students.
