CONTEXT

We're looking for an Art Director to join our In-House Creative Agency as we continue to build Back Market's mission-driven brand across the globe. Candidates are expected to work a hybrid work arrangement, committing to a minimum of two days per week on-site (Manhattan - Union Square). Due to a need for work during overlapping time zones with France, we are looking for candidates who currently reside in the NY Tri-State area.

WHAT IS THE ROLE?

Join our growing In-House Creative Agency as an Art Director, and the first member of our dedicated Performance Marketing team. You'll collaborate within an international team, including working with overseas colleagues and your manager. Key to success in this role are strong design craft and direct-to-consumer marketing skills, a deep understanding of consumer audiences and behaviors, exceptional fluency and creation skills in the social media space, strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.

Your specialization will be in graphic design, social media design, and brand communications, working on projects from the initial concept to the final product delivery. Under the supervision of our Senior Lead Art Director, you will support our global Marketing team and cross-functional partners in creating high-craft creativity that resonates around the globe.

Example projects you may work on include:

Creating and executing direct-to-consumer, business-driving communications that bring our mission and product to life across channels, countries, and culture

Creating assets with a high level of design craft and art direction across different performance and growth channels including website, social, and app

Extending visual systems/brand guidelines across digital channels, drawing upon user research and analytics data and to translate them into engaging design solutions.

Co-developing ownable design systems for specific storytelling purposes that can be repeated and evolved over time

Crafting paid social media content that engages with the pulse of culture, and lives naturally alongside organic, user-generated content

Serving as protector and champion of our visual brand across all global assets

Partnering with external creators including designers, illustrators, animators, filmmakers, builders, and more

Co-building the company's first-ever dedicated performance marketing creative team and working closely with our Operations and Production teams to institutionalize best practices and collaborative processes
