Human Resources Specialist

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-12.If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a Human Resources Specialist, you will:
Provide consultation, advice, guidance, and recommendations to managers on areas such as workforce planning, competency gap analysis, designing assessment strategies, and the use of employment flexibilities to attract, recruit, and retain a highly qualified workforce.
Plan and conduct classification studies utilizing analytical and diagnostic techniques and qualitative/quantitative methods to identify short- and long-range position classification and position management needs.
Develop unusual or imaginative approaches to evaluating and resolving complex, interrelated classification and position management problems.In coordination with ARC, you will assist managers with identifying competencies required, conducting job analysis, writing position descriptions, developing and executing an assessment strategy, developing interview questions, and developing recruiting/outreach plans.
These duties cover a variety of scientific, technical, professional, administrative, and clerical positions for employees in the General Schedule as well as positions under the Federal Wage System.
