You will be responsible for managing staff, scheduling, ensuring quality control, and communicating effectively with senior management. Your ability to solve problems creatively and thoughtfully will be crucial to our success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Staff Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of employees across two locations, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and handling employee relations.
- Scheduling: Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage and operational efficiency, taking into account peak hours and special events.
- Quality Control: Uphold high standards of product quality and presentation; ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve operational issues promptly, communicating effectively with senior management and implementing solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Operational Efficiency: Monitor and manage shop performance, including inventory levels, waste control, and cost management to maximize profitability.
- Customer Experience: Ensure a positive customer experience by maintaining a clean, friendly, and inviting atmosphere in each shop.
- Innovation: Proactively identify areas for improvement in operations and service; propose innovative strategies to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Financial Management: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting as needed, working closely with senior management.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies, local regulations, and industry standards. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience: Minimum of three years in a management role within the food service industry, with a preference for experience in pastry, ice cream, or dessert establishments.
- Skills: Strong leadership and team-building skills; excellent organizational and multitasking abilities; proficiency in scheduling software and inventory management systems. Proficiency with Toast POS back-end a plus.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey issues and solutions effectively to staff and senior management.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to think creatively and solve problems on the fly in a fast-paced environment.
- Passion: A genuine interest in desserts, ice cream, and/or pastry, with a commitment to delivering an outstanding product and customer experience.
- Education: High School Diploma or higher; Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management is preferred
