Transdev is the contractor that oversees the East Bay Paratransit program (rides for people with disabilities). Our web site is and we're located in downtown Oakland above the 19th St. BART station. THE POSITION

We are seeking an IT Specialist to support the IT Department and (IT) Systems Administrator for East Bay Paratransit. The Specialist will work with department staff, operational personnel, and senior management, and is responsible for the Management of the East Bay Paratransit infrastructure and software support.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Familiar with multiple-site operations, VPN technologies
  • Install, configure, and maintain networks, servers and workstations
  • Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 related software issues
  • Support & Troubleshoot EBPT production software client & server
  • Provide strong professional customer service
  • Printer, Fax, and other peripherals support and maintenance
  • Consult with and advise management on operational system problems
  • Assist in the troubleshooting of Help Desk calls/tickets/emails
  • Routine and emergency maintenance visits to EBPT local and our 3 Providers
  • After-Hours/On-Call support
  • Other duties as assigned

WORK SCHEDULE

This position must be available to work a set schedule, any day of the week, including weekends, between 8:00-5:00PM. Will work full time and must be available to work an eight-hour shift five days per week and be available to report to duty as needed, 365 days per year including holidays. Occasional overtime may be required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience working with the elderly or persons with disabilities preferred. Possess the ability to work with customers and co-workers with diverse ethnic backgrounds and disabilities. Experience using a personal computer is a must. Have proficient English skills both verbally and in written form. Must be organized and focused.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years work experience in IT environments
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Learn/Support proprietary applications
  • Self-Motivated
  • Excellent communications skills

EDUCATIONAL & TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Associate's Degree

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Position requires individual to be able to travel, if need be, to Provider locations within the area.
  • Individual must be willing to work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment, at times.
  • The operations of East Bay Paratransit are 24 X 7, 365, so occasional evening or weekend work may also be required to meet deadlines or meet support needs.
  • Position will also require individual to participate in a biweekly 24 hour X 7 on call rotation.

ENVIRONMENT

Majority of the work is performed on-site in a professional office setting that is well lighted, climate controlled, dust and smoke free. Some off-site work setting may be necessary dependent on need. Building and work areas are fully ADA accessible. This is an environmentally friendly office.
