HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT:

This TD Manager is responsible for the accuracy and relevance of fit standards, processes and tools used by the Technical Design Team. This includes management of blocks and grades, process evolution, and skills development as well as continuously analyzing market trends that impact fit and sizing. In this role, the TD Manager will need to work across brands throughout the company to ensure alignment with brand definitions, consumer segments and products strategies. This role is based in our Buckhead corporate office in our hybrid work environment (4 days a week on-site)

This position requires an advanced level of technical design, organizational and problem-solving skills. Project management experience is highly preferred as well.

Duties include but not limited to below details:

Standards and Process Oversight- 65%

Oversee technical design standards, process adherance, market trends, training and development

Block/Grade/Management

  • Lead block/standards relevancy project
  • Oversee maintenance and governance of blocks and grades in an on-going state
  • Correlate blocks and grades with brand & consumer definitions to ensure TD practices align with business strategies
  • Apply fabric and performance knowledge to block, grades and fit libraries as appropriate
  • Provide tools, processes and training necessary for Technical Design team to utilize blocks and standards as intended for fit consistency and workload efficiency

Technical Design Process Development and Adherence

  • Update and maintain end-to-end technical design processes to ensure design partnership, Technical Services partnership, tech pack consistency and workload efficiency
  • Correlate technical design processes with brand & consumer definitions to ensure TD practices align with business strategies
  • Ensure Technical Design team is following processes and best practices
  • Assess and rate innovation opportunities related to process improvement

Market Trend

  • Identify and analyze market trends relevant to the brand and its competitors
  • Research new trends from diverse sources i.e. tradeshows, social media, and other relative platforms
  • Gather market information and samples to inform design decisions and future product development
  • Assist in the development of a market research toolkit and the processes for sharing with team members

TD Skills Development and Training

  • Develop assessment methodologies to support skills training
  • Create roadmap and coordinate training identified through assessments

Seasonal Tech Pack Development- 35%

Oversee tech pack development for direct reports including tasks below:

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Interpret design fit intention and apply market trend POV
  • Cost Engineering / Manufacturing knowledge
  • Fabric knowledge and application

Tech Pack Development

  • Specification Development include Measurements and Construction
  • Creative POV to execute fit consistency across sizes where applicable
  • Provide constructions options for the right value equation of the product
  • Workload management and KPIs

Sample Review and Collaboration

  • Ensure design and fit intent execute as desired and to tech pack specifications
  • Influence decisions to maintain fit integrity & manufacturing efficiency while supporting business needs
  • Lead fit sessions & discussions as needed, analyze fit and accurately communicate corrections of assigned product area

Establishing Technical Design Standards

  • Lead fit sessions & cross-functional discussions as needed for alignment on standards

Education

  • 15+ Years Apparel Technical Design and Product Development + associate's degree- Related Field
  • 10 Years Apparel Technical Design and Product Development Experience + bachelor's degree - Related Field
  • Minimum 2-4 Years TD Manager or Sr. TD Experience - Multiple Categories
