How will you make an impact in this role

In response to the ongoing proliferation of new mandatory Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) reporting requirements across the globe, the SEC and Statutory Reporting (SSR) organization within Corporate Controllership is creating this new role to support cross functional ESG reporting project(s).

This is a new role within the SEC and Statutory Reporting (SSR) organization within Corporate Controllership created to support cross functional project(s) In response to the ongoing proliferation of new mandatory Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG) reporting requirements across the globe,designed to develop new processes across the organization to enable American Express to meet its mandatory ESG reporting requirements. This role will partner closely with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team, General Counsel's Office (GCO), Investor Relations, Colleague Engagement Group (CEG), Climate Risk, Real Estate, Treasury and Controllership stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

·Build cross-functional partnerships within American Express, particularly with CSR and SMEs of ESG project workstream owners.

·Structured progress reporting: goals and milestones for assigned projects.

·Identify and lead key strategic imperatives for ESG reporting framework and Identification of up and down-stream impacts.

·Partner with Stat Reporting leaders to establish a reporting roadmap and governance framework with Clearly defined scope and objectives of each project workstream.

·Escalate and keep leadership informed on delays/ roadblocks and risks around project timelines.

·Leads Process Mapping, Analysis and Optimization and evaluating impact of system/data changes along with gap analysis.

·Establish end-to-end processes, controls, dashboards / metrics and requirements for projects.

·Collaborate with key internal cross-functional stakeholders in SOX/OE and IAG to design and implement processes, controls, and systems to support ESG data governance, metrics and KPIs

·Interpretation of ESG regulatory requirements and impacts on reporting.

·Participate in external ESG forums and engage with other public registrants on ESG disclosure and reporting matters. Conduct ESG benchmarking and develop recommendations to enhance ESG reporting.

Minimum Qualifications:

·Bachelor's degree required and Masters/MBA preferred

·8+ years of work experience, prior experience in Enterprise Project management.

·Strong executive presence and proficiency in written and verbal communications

·Advanced PowerPoint and Excel proficiency

·Demonstrated ability to lead change; strong change management experience.

·Result oriented, able to lead and influence without authority

Preferred Qualifications:

·Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders and business partners.

·Proven ability to work in ambiguity along-with the ability to put structure to ambiguity.

·Proven strategic thought leadership skills with ability to translate ideas into well-defined strategy & solutions.

·Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize different activities while maintaining accuracy and adhering to deadlines.

·Some understanding of sustainability, social impact, ESG strategy and associated market trends is desired but not required.

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
