General Job Description:
The NDP Manager will be engaged in every aspect of youth programs and activities with emphasis on both tennis and whole child development for all kids of all abilities at the facility and offsite. The NDP Manager will coordinate with the Sr. Youth Programs Manager, Instructional Development Program Manager and Director of Programs in design, development, and execution of youth programs. Will manage and oversee all aspects of the Intermediate Development Program from Elementary School-aged youth through High School-aged youth. May be involved in development of offsite programs/pilot programs/test initiatives. In addition, this position is a member of the management team.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the Intermediate Development Program, while also contributing substantially towards its continued improvement
  • Design, plan, execute, and oversee tennis activities and programs (youth programs, special events and tournaments) in coordination with DTP team.
  • Build onsite and offsite youth participation, fostering parent and community engagement and education.
  • Demand a high-quality on-court program, which includes a supportive and engaging environment. Identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as a positive role model, uphold professional behavior, and work closely with all staff and participants in a team-based, respectful way.
  • Promote the philosophy, mission, and vision of the DTP to serve all kids within a model of whole child development and inclusivity
  • 30 hours per week of hands-on youth instruction and program execution both off-site and on-site (must have experience teaching all levels of play from instructional through advanced)
  • Collaborate with mission-aligned organizations
  • Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Programs.

Characteristics and skills supporting success at the DTP:
  • Integrity, character, and an exemplary work ethic.
  • Familiarity with USTA ROGY and Junior Development Pathway.
  • Experience working with diverse youth and commitment to serving youth equitably.
  • Highly organized, proactive and detail oriented.
  • Team-oriented, cooperative, communicative, professional, and reliable.
  • Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Minimum of five years' experience instructing elementary, middle school, and/or high school -aged youth
  • Minimum of two years' experience instructing advanced tennis players
  • Availability weekday afternoons and evenings; Saturdays and/or Sundays during academic year and weekday daytime availability throughout the summer
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proficiency and/or fluency in world languages
  • CPR certified within 60 days of hire
  • USPTA or PTR certification within 60 days of hire
  • USTA Safe Play certified within 30 days of hire
  • Strong playing experience (NTRP 4.5+ or recent college level player)

Additional Information:
  • Applications being accepted through August 3, 2024 (or longer, if necessary)
  • Hours: Full-time, exempt
  • Compensation: $62K-$77K, plus benefits (health, dental and vision insurance and paid time off)
  • Reports to: Director of Programs
