Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Utility II position requires proficiency in all functions within the department as the job is tasked to move at a moment's notice with minimal training or instruction.

This position has the responsibility to comply with safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce safety as a core value. Ensure that all policies, procedures, and activities related to food safety & quality are followed and complied with uniformly to reduce product and process variability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team player who aligns and upholds our values: Teamwork, Accountability, Innovation and Continuous Improvement and passion for customer and consumers
  • Attendance is essential to perform duties
  • Attend and actively participate in safety meetings and trainings
  • Always ensure regulatory compliance
  • Ensure cleanliness of all equipment throughout the building as well as outdoors
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment as needed to ensure efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure that production line is adequately supplied with product
  • Serve as primary operator for dice line.
  • Backup operator for MAP Room and Brine Line
  • Provides coverage for breaks and employees/operators who are off from work due to sickness or vacation time.
  • Clean and dry all food contact and non-food contact surfaces using a pre-determined solution of chemical substance/water and applicable sanitation tools.
  • Perform CIP for all necessary equipment (as needed).
  • Ability to fill out plant documentations
  • Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies/procedures and incorporate safety and health in all job duties/tasks
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Workers are required to wear proper PPE such as hair nets, ear plugs, and certain areas require earmuffs
  • Ability to work in changing temperature with short notice
  • Frequent standing, lifting, bending, reaching above shoulders, repetitive hand motion, pulling and pushing
  • Must be able to complete multiple tasks in a time-constrained environment
  • Must be able to work safely with chemicals.
  • Ability to ascend and descend stairs
