About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing plant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operation, leadership, and management of the plant.

This position reports to the Plant Manager and regularly reports on plant performance. Direct reports to this position include a salaried staff, including Production Supervisors and Production Clerks, while indirect reports include all hourly employees at the plant.

The successful candidate will be accountable for inspiring and executing strategies that achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability. They will also be responsible for developing and advancing initiatives that promote and improve the safety, health, security, and welfare of all employees.

Maintaining and driving safe, clean, orderly, and environmentally compliant production operations will be a key focus, as well as following and enforcing GMPs in compliance with all food safety requirements.

The Operations Manager will also be responsible for inclusive oversight of all production and production support activities of the facility, ensuring all are conducted in accordance with Company policies, principles, procedures, values, and standards.

Effectively assessing, mentoring, and coaching direct reports to ensure optimum performance will be a key aspect of this role, as well as providing technical recommendations and implementation for continuous improvement in plant production processes.

Proactively conferring and collaborating with customers, sales, and internal/external support resources to evaluate, develop, and promote strategies designed to improve service, flow, quality, and product value will also be a key responsibility.

This role will also involve executing supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The Operations Manager will be responsible and accountable for Operations Metrics, including Turn-over, Service, Quality, Cost, OEE, and Waste.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of 5-7+ years of related experience as manager and/or training in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven technical leadership with the ability to utilize structured problem-solving methods.
  • Experiences in 5S, Lean, and Kaizen would be a plus.
  • Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management to support the business.
  • Experience with SQF or ISO within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
