The GEICO Billing and Payments Technology Team is looking for an energetic and talented individual to join our team responsible for Billing and payments software delivery Organization as a Sr. Software Engineering Manager Responsibilities include software delivery and production support leading to building systems for the future. This role provides opportunity to leverage your knowledge of systems to drive process improvement and innovative system development building using data as a tool. Responsible for identify and implementing strategies to increase automation around enforcing controls for data consistencies and accuracy. Works very closely with other development partner teams to ensure controls are effective and the evidence reporting is complete and accurate systems

As a software delivery Manager for Billing & Payments, you will interact and build relationships business and internal stake holders. Also to contribute with technology details on solutions, assess costing options, evaluating suppliers, defining requirements, and maintaining key data for delivering complex solutions. You also from time to time develop strategy and help senior members in negotiating deals in this category driving savings for the company.
Monitor and sharpen industry category knowledge on regular basis and help enforcement of the category and activities relevant to insurance.

The role builds, develops, and manages managers' of a team of developers, who will help in effectively developing, implementing , maintaining and tracking controls.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead people, products, and process and be a thought leader to create a strategy that drives the Data Management Services organization as part of GEICO's data-driven focus
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and strong planning skills to establish long term roadmap and business plan
  • Strong relationship building to establish and foster great relationships with partner Tech teams and business partners
  • Leverage systems, tools and techniques to improve and modernize processes. Design end-to-end processes focused on system driven automation and enabling usability across a range of user groups.
  • Effectively communicate, provide subject matter expertise and partner with all levels of the finance organization. Build consensus and gain cooperation across functions to achieve project goals.
  • Work with team of developers to identify automation opportunities to increase effectiveness of processes and
  • Evaluate the accuracy and probable effectiveness of proposed technical solutions
  • Monitors and measures work tasks to ensure deliverables are provided on time and within budget.
  • Manages technical relationships with assigned vendors, including driving features and function requests for inclusion in future product releases.
  • Effectively manages team to achieve results by providing appropriate direction, timely developmental feedback and coaching, and conducting performance reviews and conversations.
  • Interviews and hires qualified team members, striving to improve GEICO bench strength and augmenting product or project teams with contract staff when required.
  • Supports team in creating training and career development plans and ensures assignments with increasing levels of responsibility are given to staff.
  • Provides coaching and direction to the team that drives action and enables achievement of performance and operational goals.
  • Conduct interviews of key stakeholders to identify and document requirements and provide recommended solution. Lead testing of all functional requirements and validate results.
  • Create digital dashboards to support performance monitoring and interpretation.
  • Conduct post-mortem assessments to build an environment of continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years minimum experience software delivery working with systems, data, reporting and process improvement. People management experience required
  • 2+ years' experience in Agile frameworks and methodologies, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience a plus
  • 2 years' Experience in managing or supervising 2+ managers who had teams of 8-10 developers or more required
  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related technical area is required.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build/release practices
  • Strong systems knowledge and experience including:
    • Duck Creek systems ;
    • Databases , cloud , data analytics ;
    • Writing complex SQL statements and performing data discovery;
    • System and data controls experience ensuring KPIs and OKRs with Exceptional attention to detail as it relates to accuracy, automation, system performance , telemetry and monitoring
    • Billing and payment systems preferred.
    • Insurance back ground preferred
  • Project management experience, AGILE preferred.
  • Comfortable in a high paced working environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize a large group of diverse projects simultaneously, and deliver on multiple threads of work.
