Position: Engineering Technician

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Technician with a focus on vehicle systems to join our innovative team. In this role, you will collaborate with our engineering teams on the development and implementation of our cutting-edge driverless technology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in vehicle wiring, electronics assembly, upfitting, and documentation. While welding and metalworking skills are beneficial, they are not required.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, repair, and modify electrical wiring harnesses and components
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in vehicles for optimal functionality and safety
  • Assemble, test, and troubleshoot electronic components and systems for vehicle applications
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to refine electronic systems for vehicle integration
  • Manage procurement process for vehicle components
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure timely delivery of parts
  • Generate detailed documentation of work performed
  • Communicate regularly with project teams to provide progress updates
  • Conduct thorough testing and quality checks on vehicle systems
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for enhanced reliability
  • Perform thermal testing of electronics systems on vehicles
  • Create testing booths and install thermocouples for temperature monitoring
  • Analyze and present test findings to the engineering team
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate degree preferred
  • Relevant certifications in electronics or automotive technology
  • Experience in vehicle wiring and electronics assembly
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles and wiring diagrams
  • Proficiency in soldering and electronic assembly techniques
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Organizational skills with multitasking ability
  • Experience with parts ordering and inventory management
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
