Job Description

The Associate Director of Health Promotion and Education has primary responsibility for educating the Wentworth community about issues surrounding health and wellness, including but not limited to, substance use and misuse, sexual assault, healthy relationships, mental wellness, sleep hygiene, physical health, stress management, eating disorders/body image, and sexual health.

The Associate Director is responsible for:

Developing, marketing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in areas of health and wellness with a focus on prevention and intervention.
Advising a peer education group and collaborates with departmental staff in training for student peer wellbeing ambassadors.
Overseeing the implementation of the health and wellbeing online course modules for all incoming students.
Serving as a campus resource and as such will conduct training for student groups on campus.
Facilitating mandated education courses on alcohol and other drug use and provides educational interventions for sanctioned students.
This position will require some evening and weekend work and may require an adjusted weekday schedule.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or an advanced degree in public health, health promotion, community health, social work, education, higher education administration, or a related field.
Significant, progressively responsible full-time professional health promotion work experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
Certified or Master Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES/MCHES), Certified in Public Health (CPH), or eligible and willing to become certified.
Training experience and/or certification in the following programs/strategies: Wellness Coaching and/or Brief Alcohol Screening and Interventions for College Students (BASICS).
Demonstrate commitment to diversity, social justice, and cultural competence and the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Evidence of ability to provide leadership and problem-solving skills in analyzing health promotion needs of emerging adults, especially college students.
Robust understanding of academic priorities and the educational mission of institutions
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
