Job Announcement

Provides support for all IT systems in the Facilities Management Department (FMD), working in concert with a Business Analyst and Department of Information Technology staff, and Information Technology service vendors.

Further duties include:

Supports primarily the efforts of the Operations and Maintenance Division and Design, Engineering and Construction Division. Assists in analyzing, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems to meet the needs of the department and system users.Performs data collection and identify efficiency of services through dashboard type reports. Participates in the requirements gathering, design, testing, and maintenance of the department asset management application.Maintains detailed knowledge of agency business processes and the application of those processes to the asset management software.Responds to production system emergencies and keeps abreast of information technology industry trends and direction for applicability to FMD automated systems development.Assists in detecting, analyzing, and resolving application-related problems.Tracks changes requested by agency management and users.Understands and applies county security policies and requirements to support the county's strategic technical security policy and programs.Other job-related duties as assigned.
Works under the general direction and supervision of the Management Analyst III.

Note : The assigned functional areas of the position are information technology, data analysis, data asset management, development/analysis of procedures/processes as it relates to commercial building/facilities management, design engineering and construction, operations & maintenance, and/or real estate services.

Conducts professional-level work in functions or activities, such as financial, budgetary, procurement, contract administration, human resources, training, information technology, and similar functions;
Assists with a variety of technical and professional work related to monitoring and reporting on departmental business processes, activities, and outcomes;
Performs designated segments of projects or programs with well-defined objectives, including activities such as data collection, synthesis of data gathered to support analysis, and documentation of findings and recommendations;
Performs data collection activities in support of existing studies, projects or programs, including conducting research; participating in interviews; administering customer, organizational or employee surveys; assisting in the facilitation of focus groups; participating in work group collaboration; and mapping or charting of workflow processes;
Assists with measuring and analyzing indicators of performance, quality, quantity and efficiency of services;
Compiles and provides business information to management;
Maintains index or log of standard forms for gathering information from a variety of audiences;
Formats data sets and performs qualitative and descriptive statistical analysis to aggregate and assimilate data for displaying potential patterns and trends;
Assists in implementing business improvements, such as changes to policies, work practices, processes and procedures;
Contributes to position papers, evaluation reports and presentations.

Employment Standards

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: (Click on the aforementioned link to learn how Fairfax County interprets equivalencies for Any combination, experience, and training equivalent to") Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in the field related to the assigned functional area.

BRIDGE CLASS EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Four years of increasingly complex technical experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Admin Assistant IV, or higher, level. This class can serve as a bridge class enabling individuals who do not meet the educational or professional experience standards listed above to qualify for this class by possessing four years of increasingly complex technical experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Admin Assistant IV, or higher, level. The purpose of this bridge class is to promote upward mobility within the Fairfax County workforce. However persons qualifying for this class on the basis of their technical experience may not substitute this technical experience for education, or for professional experience, in order to qualify for other employment opportunities.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Possession of a valid motor vehicle driver's license.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background and a driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
This position is considered Emergency Service Personnel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience in facilities related activities, building systems and building operations.Experience with software packages used in construction, building design or layout, or project management.Proficiency with Nuvolo, ESMP, or other related computer management maintenance system.Excellent attention to detailExcellent customer service skillsAbility to communicate effectively, both written and orallyExperience in data entry, as well as analyzing and manipulating data to draw conclusions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
May be required to lift up to 15 lbs. Must be able to communicate by iPhone and computer. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, feed large paper into plotter, etc. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
