The Accounts Payable (AP) Lead role is part of the Houston Financial Shared Service Center reporting to the AR/AP Manager. This position is responsible for supervising the daily operations of the team and assisting the AR/AP Manager in department functions including maintaining the overall AP processes for three entities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.
  • Leading and Mentoring the Accounts Payable Team.
  • Assists in the continuous development of the AP department processes and procedures, looking for efficiencies and improvements.
  • First point of escalation for AP related issues.
  • Meeting deadlines; providing AP financial close activities, including reporting and reconciliations, i.e. subledger to GL, etc.
  • Responsible for vendor payment processing including bank applications; ACH, wires, etc
  • Assist in production of 1099s, prepare for distribution and file associated documents with Internal Revenue Service.
Job Requirements
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, but a combination of experience and education may be acceptable. High school diploma is required.
  • 5+ years recent experience in high volume, full cycle Accounts Payable processing.
  • 3+ yrs Lead or Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications (including but not limited to MS Office).
  • Must have excellent and effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently without supervision or with minimal supervision as well working in a team environment.
  • Able to adapt to a flexible schedule.
