Collaborating with the Manager, you will navigate reporting requirements, regulations, and standards while staying informed about all accounting and reporting obligations affecting the Operational Accounting teams.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Comprehend the requirements of the Operational Accounting functions and how the Technical Accounting team fulfills those needs while advocating for Technical Accounting within the business.
  • Conceive, design, and implement accounting policies and procedures that deliver value through risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, automation, and enhanced efficiency by leveraging best practices in Accounting.
  • Utilize contemporary technology to modernize Accounting operations, enhancing reliability, boosting operational efficiency, and minimizing costs.
  • Transform project documentation, including reports and specific business rules, into technical specifications for development by internal or external teams.
  • Provide training and support to end users and super users regarding SAP as needed.
  • Offer additional support and assistance as required.
  • Coordinate and engage with Business Development during due diligence or other initiatives as necessary.
  • Assist in assessing accounting processes and controls with the aim of improving efficiencies and delivering superior information for management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Accounting Team to optimize and implement new accounting standards and best practices for the company.
  • Build customer trust, commit to enhancing customer satisfaction, set realistic customer expectations, and take responsibility for resolving customer issues.
  • Ensure commitments to business stakeholders are fulfilled, solicit feedback and ideas from Finance, Accounting, and Land departments, and respond to inquiries.
  • Uphold the company's core values of integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
  • Support the company's vision and mission.
  • Adhere to established work schedules, attendance standards, and punctuality for work and meetings.
  • Maintain employee confidentiality and protect company assets, including intellectual property, by safeguarding sensitive information.

  • Contribute to team success by achieving related outcomes as needed.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Upstream Oil and Gas Accounting or related fields, including technical accounting, business analysis, or relevant accounting functions.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a technical accounting role encompassing General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Cost and Profit Center Accounting (CPA).
  • Experience in providing Technical Accounting support and training to end users.
  • Capability to manage multiple, diverse tasks of varying priorities independently.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
